What Is the Difference Between the Swine Flu and Regular Flu?

by Swine Flu Information

Is there anything to really worry about? Are the swine and regular flu the same? Why is there such a huge issue with the swine flu?

swine flu is a little bit worse than normal flu. the problem is that it’s spreading faster and that, until now, we didn’t have any vaccines against it.

The swine flu can give you permament respiratory problems and in some cases kill you. Although you can die from the conventional flu as well, often times you already need to be elderly or weak where as the H1N1 is a stronger beast.

Flu’s are casued by viruses – so swine flu is just another virus.
All viruses are different and each one affects differnet people in different ways
But, in this case, the virus is a little nastier than other viruses.

They are basically the same thing but the swine flu is a lot more dangerous partly because its a new disease and the shots are limited. Whereas the flu shot has been around for ages and everyone has an unlimited supply of shots and its been tested, and its been proven to work, etc.

I think the only difference sympton wise is the coughing factor. If u have swine and u cough your whole body hurts(not 100% sure though). Oh and if you fever is like above 102, 103ish then you may have swine.

The swine flu is more respiratory, and the regular flu is more gastric (lungs versus stomach.)

When I had the swine flu, I was extremely weak, extremely lightheaded and had no appetite whatsoever. We also got very, very dehydrated. It was like I couldn’t get enough to drink.

We didn’t experience any funny tummy stuff, thank God, but the thing with swine flu that you have to be careful about is that it is respiratory, so it really affects your lungs. More kids have wound up in hospital on respirators because of the way it attacks the lungs.

We also all had fevers, and at one point my son’s temperature shot up to 103.3. That was the freakiest thing.

If you can manage to avoid it, do. It took about ten days to get over it completely, and my kids missed more than a week of school.

“When it comes to the flu — seasonal or swine — treatment is the same. Get rest, stay hydrated, and consult your doctor about antiviral medication if your symptoms become more severe.”

“Although the name ‘swine flu’ brings up a lot of extra fear and worry, it is important to note that swine flu is just an influenza A H1N1 virus. That means that it is just another type of flu virus, just like that causes our typical seasonal flu symptoms. The big difference is that the current swine influenza A (H1N1) virus has components of pig and bird influenza viruses in it, so that humans don’t have any immunity to it. That is what made it more likely that it would become a pandemic virus (have the ability to cause a global outbreak) because it could easily spread from person-to-person.”

The swine flu is dangerous for small children and pregnant women. Other than that they are very similar. You will always have a fever with Swine Flue while you may not with the regular flu.

All types of flu can cause:
• Fever
• Coughing and/or sore throat
• Runny or stuffy nose
• Headaches and/or body aches •
• Chills
• Fatigue
H1N1 Flu Symptoms
H1N1 causes symptoms similar to seasonal flu and can include:
• *Fever
• Coughing and/or sore throat
• Runny or stuffy nose
• Headaches and/or body aches
• Chills
• Fatigue

In addition to the above symptoms, a number of H1N1 flu cases reported:
• Vomiting
• Diarrhea
(*) Not everyone with flu will have a fever.

People infected with H1N1 are contagious 1 day before getting sick, and up to 7 days after that. This time period can be even longer in children and people with weakened immune systems.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health cautions anyone with the above symptoms to stay at home (except to get medical care) until at least 24 hours after the fever ends naturally (without the use of fever-reducing medication). Do not attempt to go to school or work. Doing so could spread the virus to those who are otherwise well.

It is one of the many strains of the influenza virus and unless you are hanging around piggeries, you have nothing to worry about. It is a particularly natsy form of flu that can kill if not diagnosed early and treated. I had it six months ago and was very ill, but I write to you now so I am fine
If you want more info, don’t rely on resources here (including my own), have a look at the CDC website or ask your doctor.

its all bs
the swine flu is shorter version of the regular flu, olny very catchy and in a diferent season

first night i had a sourthoughtt right before i went to sleep

first day went to school felt ok until like 9 am then the head ace came
3pm head ace felt like someone hit me with the back side on an axe and i got dizzy all through out the day i had a bad cough and was very weak.

second day i stayed home and was very sensitive to light and sounds i was very cold and had a temp of 101 to 103. i kept the sasymptomsmes as the day before. it was fun to walk though cuz i would tip over a lot. also my joints hurt and my body aced a lot.

the third day i was a little better, i wasn’t as sensitive to lights and sounds. my nose got really stuffy but other than that it was all the same.

the fortfifthd fith day was just recovery i woke up without a head acdizzinesszyness, all of the synes were pretty much gone except for the cough and stuffy nose.

all around it was not as bad as the media put it

hopefully i don’t relaps though, the doctor said that i might feel good for like 2-4 days than have a bad relaps
